(By Matt Konopka) Ever since I was a little horror pup, my number one movie monster has been werewolves. I can’t get enough of the furry, snarling, tail-wagging beasts. Films like The Howling and An American Werewolf in London mesmerized me with their incredible FX work. By the time the mid-90s rolled around, we began seeing fewer and fewer of these monsters on the big screen. Thankfully, the indie scene has kept them alive and well. Enter the latest, Bonehill Road…

(By Matt Konopka) No matter how long you’ve been watching horror films, there will always be new and undiscovered gems for you to come across. With the rate these things are made, no one, ever, will be able to say they’ve seen every horror film ever made. But who wants to slog through all the crap to get to the good stuff? Starting this week, I’ll be taking that bullet, watching a film I’ve never seen every week and answering the question, is this film better off dead? This week, we start with Demon Wind… "Paranormal Activity" creator bringing us a new, terrifying AR game in "Night Terrors: Bloody Mary"!10/17/2018 [By Mark Gonzales] October is here and with it have come a spate of series and movies from Netflix that aim to scare the pants off of you. The Haunting of Hill House is one of the subscription service's most recent offerings and it does, for the first two episodes at least, manage to bring the scares. At the time of this publication, I have only viewed the first two episodes of the series but I am very excited to finish watching the show in the coming days... The service’s latest release, Terrified, is one that could end up on many “best of” lists towards the end of the year… If I were to ask you if you love B-horror that features tons of gore, monsters, tongue in cheek one-liners, and miniature 80s action heroes, what would your response be? I hope it’s yes, because otherwise I’m not sure this is the site for you, but if it is, then you don’t have any excuse to not be reading Full Moon Comics’ Dollman Kills the Full Moon Universe, which just keeps getting better with the release of issue #3… As a horror journalist, I don’t expect, nor do I need, thanks. Writing about horror is often a pretty thankless job, and that’s fine, because I love doing it. I always want my readers to take my words with a grain of salt, but every once in a while, a film comes along that is so awful, so excruciating to sit through, that I feel it is my job, no, my duty, to warn fans to stay as far away from it as possible. Recently dumped on Netflix from Blumhouse, Seven in Heaven is one of those films… (By: Mark Gonzales) Have you ever woken from a deep sleep, made breakfast, driven to work, then did your job for several hours only to waken suddenly and come to the sad realization that you had only dreamt your oppressively mundane work day and that you must now do everything that you just dreamt of in real life? Those feelings of disappointment, dread, and frustrating repetition adequately describe what it feels like to watch 2018's In Memory Of… |
