Bingo... ...Blumhouse has announced that Golden Globe® and Academy Award® nominee Adriana Barraza (Drag Me to Hell) is starring in Culture Shock director Gigi Saul Guerrero's upcoming horror film Bingo, which is part of Amazon Prime's Welcome to Blumhouse slate of genre, horror-thriller films highlighting female and emerging filmmakers, and diverse casts with new and established actors in unexpected roles! In Bingo, written by Guerrero & Shane McKenzie, along with Perry Blackshear (They Look Like People): "In the barrio of Oak Springs live a strong and stubborn group of elderly friends who refuse to be gentrified. Their leader, Lupita, keeps them together as a community, a family. But little did they know, their beloved Bingo hall is about to be sold to a much more powerful force than money itself." Barraza plays the lead character of “Lupita,” a strong and stubborn “chingona” (bad ass) who grew up in the barrio of Oak Springs, a neighborhood formerly full of crime and dangerous characters. Lupita has dedicated her life to cleaning up the neighborhood, and creating a community the residents could be proud to call home. Jason Blum, Jeremy Gold, Marci Wiseman, Raynor Shima, Lisa Bruce and Lauren Downey are executive producing. The upcoming 2021 Welcome to the Blumhouse films include Bingo, The Manor, Black as Night, and Madres. Prime Video launched the Welcome to the Blumhouse program in October of last year with Black Box, The Lie, Evil Eye and Nocturne which are currently streaming on Prime Video. Bingo is currently in production. By Matt Konopka
