Amblin Teaming with the Filmmakers Behind 'Villains' for an Untitled "Social Horror" Flick!6/12/2020 If you missed Villains, you missed a treat... ...Via THR's Heat Vision, Amblin has picked up the rights to a horror pitch from the directing team behind Villains, Dan Berk and Robert Olsen. Villains was one of our favorite horror flicks of 2019, a dark comedy featuring Maika Monroe and Bill Skarsgard in one of the best on-screen pairings in quite a while. Plot details on the new film are being kept under wraps, but the film is being described as "social horror". The film is being produced by Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell, who have a first-look deal with Amblin via their Safehouse Pictures banner. Safehouse’s Matt Schwartz will serve as executive producer. While that's all pretty vague, we can't wait to learn more on this one, as Berk and Olsen are an incredibly talented pair of filmmakers, and we have no doubt they will deliver something special with whatever this is. If you still need to see Villains, it's currently streaming on Hulu in the U.S. By Matt Konopka
