Excuse me. My inner child is squealing... ...Via THR, Paramount and Entertainment One have teamed to bring viewers a sequel to 2019's Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, with director Andre Ovredal (The Autopsy of Jane Doe) returning to the director's chair! The writers of the first film, Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman (the team behind The Lego Movie), will also be returning to write the script, with a screen story by Guillermo del Toro! This makes perfect sense, considering Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark made more than 105 million worldwide. Studios were bound to open the book on a sequel. At this time, there are no details on the plot for the sequel. For those less familiar with the film, it is based off of the popular book series by Alvin Schwartz, which featured three collections of chilling children's horror stories that many parents argued were too scary for children. As one who read them as a kid, they were definitely scary, but they were also just right for that age. The filmmakers will have a lot of scary stories to choose from for adaptation this next go around. By Matt Konopka
