Excuse me while I freak the hell out because this news just made my day... ...Via Deadline, J.J. Abrams studio, Bad Robot, is developing film/tv ideas based on DC's Justice League Dark series of comics at Warner Bros.! This is huge, and if you're unsure why, Justice League Dark is essentially DC's version of The Avengers, but for horror fans. Justice League Dark collects a ton of DC's more horror leaning characters, including Swamp Thing, Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman, Frankenstein, and so many more, taking on the darkest evils in the world. Deadline notes that there are no specific projects being developed at this point, as development is still in early stages. We've seen a few of the classic Justice League Dark characters make their way onto screen, with films like Constantine (2000), featuring Keanu Reeves as the occult-magic wielding John Constantine, or most recently, the DC Universe streaming platform's Swamp Thing, which was truly excellent and beloved by fans, yet was cancelled after just one season. If that show proved anything though, it's that DC is totally capable of delivering shocking, practical effect driven superhero films steeped in horror, and fans are hungry for it. More details as they come. Until then, which characters from the Justice League Dark comics would you like to see get their own film? By Matt Konopka
