CW has opened the coffin on its vampires... ...Via Deadline, CW has cast the leads in its The Lost Boys series! According to the site, Branden Cook (Industry), Lincoln Younes (Grand Hotel) and Ruby Cruz (Castle Rock) have all been cast in the pilot for director Marcos Siega's series based on the hit 1987 vampire flick of the same name. Written by Heather Mitchell and Rob Thomas, in The Lost Boys: "A mother and her Gen Z sons move to the seaside town where she grew up. There, they discover there’s a sinister reason the local cool kids sleep all day, party all night, never grow up and never get old. Family bonds are tested as the brothers find themselves on opposite sides of a mythological struggle." Cook plays Garrett, the older of the two brothers, who is essentially a version of the Michael character in the movie. Younes takes over the villainous Kiefer Sutherland role as Benjamin, the charismatic leader of the gang of vampires in the town. Cruz plays Elsie, a version of Star from the movie, who draws the interest of Garrett. Mitchell and Siega are executive producing alongside Thomas and Dan Etheridge of Spondoolie Productions. Producing are Mike Karz and Bill Bindley of Gulfstream Television along with Spondoolie’s Rebecca Franko and Gulfstream’s Juliana Janes. By Matt Konopka
