Well that didn't take long... ...Via The Hollywood Reporter, Lionsgate has won an auction for pandemic horror film 16 States, with Fede Alvarez (Don't Breathe, Evil Dead) set to direct! Written by John Requa & Glenn Ficarra (Jungle Cruise), the film centers around a timely scenario. 16 States revolves around: A pandemic, this time with zombies, with a story of a mother trying to reach her family at the center of it. The site adds that "the project has been described as having shades of the Will Smith zombie movie I Am Legend." Roy Lee and Miri Yoon of Vertigo Entertainment are producing, along with Requa, Ficarra and Charlie Gogolak via their Zaftig Films. Alvarez, Shintaro Shimosawa and Rodolfo Sayagues of Bad Hombre are also producers. We'd expect to hear about a lot more pandemic horror coming our way over the next few months. By Matt Konopka
