Five Films I Can't Wait to See at the Chattanooga Film Festival in June

The 2024 Chattanooga Film Festival is almost upon us! Featuring twenty-plus features and over eighty short films, the Tennessee-based genre fest is taking place June 21st-28th and has plenty to scream about with both in-person only and virtual screenings. Alongside panels, podcasts and parties, the fest will also host a tribute to the late filmmaker, Jeff Burr (From a Whisper to a Scream, Leatherface), as well as a birthday party celebrating 100 years of The Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling, to take place at Chattanooga Whiskey with Serling's daughter, Anne. And that's all just the tip of the blood-soaked iceberg.

CARNAGE FOR CHRISTMAS

Directed by: Alice Maio Mackay

​When true-crime podcaster and sleuth Lola visits her hometown at Christmas for the first time since running away and transitioning, the vengeful ghost of a historical murderer and urban legend seemingly arises to kill again. Lola must solve the case before her community is slaughtered. She's up against not only a psychotic killer, but a town haunted by secrets.

FALLING STARS

Directed by: Richard Karpala & Gabriel Bienczycki

​On the night of first harvest, three brothers in the American West set out to see a dead witch buried by their friend. When they accidentally desecrate the body, they learn the only way to stop a curse on their family is to burn it before sunrise.

GHOST GAME

Directed by: Jill Gevargizian

Participating in an internet challenge that requires breaking into homes and living undetected alongside the residents, a thrill-seeking couple target an infamous haunted house and endure a series of chilling incidents as they witness a family descending into madness.

THINGS WILL BE DIFFERENT

Directed by: Michael Felker

​In order to escape the police after a robbery, two estranged siblings lay low in a mysterious farmhouse that transports them through time, hiding them from consequences and punishment. There they reckon with a cryptic force that pushes their familial bonds to unnatural breaking points.
