Serial killers have long fascinated the public. Why do they do this? Why do they think this way? What makes them tic? Ted Bundy, one of the most notorious American serial killers, has had various films based on him (most not very good), but none may be more interesting than Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Vile...

...That's because the film stars Zac Efron as the vile killer himself! Yes, Efron, best known for films such as Neighbors, Dirty Grandpa, and Baywatch. It seems Efron has reached a point in his career where he is looking to expand out of comedy and try his hands at something a little more grim. It's an inspired casting choice, and one that I cannot wait to see the results of. A part of me feels that that this role could be for Efron what Insomnia was for the late Robin Williams, proof that Efron is capable of more than just running around shirtless and making us laugh.

Directed by Joe Berlinger (Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2) with a script from Michael Werwie, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Vile is:
A chronicle of the crimes of Ted Bundy, from the perspective of his longtime girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer, who refused to believe the truth about him for years.
The film also stars Haley Joel Osment, Kaya Scodelario, John Malkovich, and Jim Parsons.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Vile does not yet have a release date, but will premiere at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.
