Gigi Saul Guerrero Set to Direct Halloween Horror Flick '10-31' For Orion!

If you don't already know the name Gigi Saul Guerrero, that's about to change...

...Via Deadline, Orion Pictures has brought on Guerrero to direct a new horror flick set on Halloween called 10-31! The script was written by Ian Shorr and Peter Gamble, based on a story by Laurie Ashbourne and screen story by Kathy Charles. Eli Roth is producing along with Roger Birnbaum through their Arts District Entertainment, and John Zaozirny through Bellevue Productions.

In 10-31:

"A young woman takes her niece and nephew trick-or-treating and discovers a note inside a candy wrapper informing her there’s a killer loose on her block."

Guerrero told Deadline, “To be working with such a prestigious studio label like Orion, and alongside my friend, Eli, is next level incredible. This was a real page-turner of a script. I instantly felt passionate about taking on this story and making it a thrilling and visceral ride for audiences on the big screen.”

For those unfamiliar with the up and coming director's work, Guerrero directed last year's episode of Blumhouse's Into the Dark series, Culture Shock (which made our best of the year list), and has also directed for The Purge TV series. She's the co-founder of Luchagore Productions, which she directed the popular short El Gigante through, which you can find on Shudder. 

Needless to say, Guerrero is a force, and we cannot wait to see what she does with this premise.
