'Hairspray' Director Adam Shankman to Helm 'Hocus Pocus 2' for Disney Plus!

...Via Variety, Adam Shankman (Hairspray) has been tapped to direct Hocus Pocus 2 for Disney Plus! Written by Jen D’Angelo, the film is a long-gestating sequel to the 1993 cult film which starred Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as three witches brought back on Halloween night to steal the souls of children. 

At this time, the three cast members are not attached to the project, though the site says the studio is hopeful they will reprise their roles. There are also no plot details as of now.
