 Refer to anything as being like Get Out, and we are in... Via Deadline, HBO Max has won a spec auction for The Ancestor, a psychological thriller script by Kay Oyegun that is described as being in the tradition of Jordan Peele's Get Out and is being developed as a star vehicle for Tika Sumter (Sonic the Hedgehog)! In The Ancestor: "An African American female med student finds herself in a timely psychological thriller premise in the tradition of 'Get Out'." The film is being produced by Michael B. Jordan and Alana Mayo’s Outlier Society. It will be produced Mayo, Jordan and Khaliah Neal of Outlier Society as well as Oyegun and Sumpter. Emily Gerson Saines will be exec producer. By Matt Konopka
