We're entering the decade of monsters... ...Via THR, James Wan (Saw, The Conjuring), is producing a new monster movie for the studio of monsters, Universal! Written by Robbie Thompson (CW's Supernatural), the new project comes in the wake of the Invisible Man's success, and, as the site states, seems to imply that Universal is fully over their Dark Universe concept and are looking to create various monster movies independent of each other. Which is EXCELLENT news. In the untitled film: "With shades of 'Disturbia', the story will focus on a group of teens who discover that a neighbor is building a monster in his basement. Spoiler: the monster gets loose." When will villains ever learn to not live next door to nosy teens? With Universal expanding their monster movie slate and various other creature features such as Antlers and Underwater having either come out or getting ready to this year, the 2020's could be the decade of monsters. At least, that's what we're hoping for. By Matt Konopka
