Season 2 of Shudder's The Last Drive-In is almost upon us, which means it's time for weekly guessing at which films will be shown for each double feature...

...With Season 2 of The Last Drive-In premiering in just TWO DAYS, in which host Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl show a double feature of horror films with commentary, Briggs has sent out a press release which hints at the films being shown for the premiere's double feature!

Check out the press release below:
"The second season launches Friday night, and to answer your
questions in advance ...

Are we showing Steven Soderbergh’s 'CONTAGION'?

No we are not. It sucks.

Are we showing the 2016 zombie film 'PANDEMIC'?

No we are not. It also sucks.

Are we showing Stephen King’s 'THE STAND', directed by Mick Garris, featuring a stellar performance by the actor who played Deputy Joe Bob Brentwood?

No we are not, even though Deputy Joe Bob Brentwood was brilliant.

Listen up, people. THE LAST DRIVE-IN is a CORONAVIRUS-FREE ZONE.

Given a choice between deep analysis of global infectious disease and pure escapism, we’re going for the shallow option.

To do that, we have two bona fide cult classics. The first includes one of the most beloved actresses of the eighties, who will be joining me as my special guest.

And for the second, I’ll be joined in the co-hosting chair by the amazing CHRIS JERICHO, first All Elite Wrestling world champion and perhaps the most famous wrestler in the world right now, in both the United States and Japan, not to mention frontman for the metal band Fozzy. Why would JERICHO be joining me for the first episode of the nine-week LAST DRIVE-IN SEASON?

Because he’s also the world’s foremost expert on 'BLOODSUCKING FREAKS'. Unfortunately, the 86-year-old director of 'BLOODSUCKING FREAKS', Joel Reed, died of coronavirus last week, but we’re honoring him by celebrating the days when he created the most disturbing film of the past half century."

Now, we're not exactly sure what will be shown in honor of Joel Reed, because as of right now, neither Bloodsucking Freaks nor any Reed-directed films are on the service as far as we can tell.

Don't miss the live premiere of Season 2 of The Last Drive-In when it hits Shudder TV on April 24th, 9pm ET/6pm PT!
