Well, horror may have been completely snubbed during the Golden Globes, but at least it got some recognition at the Critics' Choice Awards tonight... ...The Critics' Choice Awards hosted its 25th year tonight, and while the representation for an incredible year of horror in 2019 was scarce, Jordan Peele's Us managed to snag a well-deserved award for Best Sci-fi or Horror Movie, going up against Ad Astra, Avengers: Endgame and Midsommar! That wasn't the only category that saw some horror representation though. Us was also nominated for Best Actress (Lupita Nyong'o, who should've won), Best Young Actor/Actress (Shahadi Wright Joseph), and Best Score (Michael Abels). Robert Eggers The Lighthouse saw nominations for Best Supporting Actor (Willem Dafoe), and Best Cinematography (Rodrigo Prieto), while Ari Aster's Midsommar saw a single nomination for Best Sci-fi or Horror Movie. As usual, I'd say there were quite a few snubs from the genre this year, but hey, at least horror had some nominations, I guess? Check out the full list of nominees/winners here, and let us know below which horror films you think should've taken home an award. By Matt Konopka
