Another day, another bummer related to COVID-19... ...In a move that should surprise no one at this point, Lionsgate has pulled Spiral: From the Book of Saw, Antebellum and Run from theatrical release as both a response to COVID-19 and the fact that multiple cinema chains are closing all over the U.S. This comes on the heels of various other horror films already having been pulled from release, including A Quiet Place Part II, The New Mutants, and Antlers. At this time, none of the above have been given a new release date. After Blumhouse decided to release The Hunt on VOD this Friday, I do have my suspicions that more studios could follow suit, as pushing these films back and re-spending on marketing is going to be costly, to say the least, so it may be beneficial to studios to release these films on VOD instead. Not to mention, many audiences could use the entertainment at home right now. Stay tuned for more details as we learn them. Lastly, fuck you COVID-19. By Matt Konopka
