Looks like Paramount+ is getting into the "straight to streaming" game... ...Via Deadline, KHC has learned that Paramount Studios will be bringing not one, not two, but three genre titles straight to their streaming service Paramount+, including new Pet Sematary and Paranormal Activity movies! According to Deadline, Paramount plans on releasing 3-4 titles exclusively to the service per year. As far as those new titles go? One will be a new Paranormal Activity from Blumhouse, and will be directed by Will Eubank (Underwater) and written by Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky). Landon and Steven Schneider are executive producing, with Jason Blum and Paranormal Activity creator Oren Peli producing. The film is currently set to release on March 4th, 2022. Sometimes dead isn't better, as another title in the works is a prequel based on Stephen King's Pet Sematary! Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing, with Jeff Buhler (Pet Sematary 2019) writing the script. Lastly, The In Between will be coming from director Arie Posin, and is based on an idea by Marc Klein, who wrote the script, with a synopsis as follows: "After surviving a car accident that took the life of her boyfriend, a teenage girl believes he’s attempting to reconnect with her from the afterworld." Robbie Brenner, Andrew Deane, and Joey King are producing, with Jamie King and Marc Klein executive producing. The film stars King, Kyle Allen, John Ortiz and Kim Dickens.
