While we wait for Columbia Picture's The Grudge, the studio has released a huge batch of new photos for the film, including a frightening look at a new ghost... ...Produced by Sam Raimi and written/directed by Niclas Pesce (The Eyes of My Mother), The Grudge is based on the film Ju-on: The Grudge, written and directed by Takashi Shimizu. In The Grudge: "A detective (Andrea Riseborough) investigates a string of deaths all stemming from an old house. When she enters the house, a violent curse latches onto her, one that brings about Kayako and her iconic, long black hair." The film also stars Lin Shaye in a terrifying role, as well as Betty Gilpin, Jacki Weaver, Demian Bichir, John Cho, William Sadler, and Frankie Faison. The new photos (including the one above), showcase some horrific images, including what appears to be one of the many ghosts supposedly populating the film. We're still anxiously awaiting our first look at the iconic Kayako, who will be returning as well. The set also features various images of director Nicolas Pesce doing what he does best: making movies that unnerve the hell out of us. Check them out below, and don't miss The Grudge when it haunts theaters on January 3rd, 2020. By Matt Konopka
