HELL. YES... ...May 9th, 2020 will mark 40 years since the original Friday the 13th first slashed into theaters, and it turns out, a new 12-film Blu-ray set is on its way to celebrate! Jason Goes to Hell director Adam Marcus took to Facebook recently to confirm the news, not only revealing that the 12-film set was indeed coming, but that it would contain the unrated cut of Jason Goes to Hell! Marcus stated: “This will be the first true unrated Blu-ray!!! With new features and awesomeness! It’s gonna rock!!!” This will be the first time that the unrated cut of the film has released on Blu-ray, and this is EXCITING! Some of you are going to groan and say, "meh, Jason Goes to Hell, big deal." But it IS a big deal, because in our opinion, Jason Goes to Hell rocks! At KHC, we feel that this film is unfairly bashed simply because it's a deviation from standard Friday the 13th lore. And hey, that's fair. There's not a whole lot of Jason, and the mythology is whacky at best. That being said, Jason Goes to Hell is LOADED with extreme kills, gore, and everything you could ever want in a Friday film (minus a ton of Jason), and it's simply one hell of an entertaining beast. Needless to say, the release of this new set is going to be huge. We still don't have an official announcement on when the set is coming, but would expect it sometime before May 9th. For now, here's an example of those excellent effects we mentioned: By Matt Konopka
