While writer George R. R. Martin bangs his head against his desk trying to finish up Game of Thrones, another series based off his work is about to premiere on the Syfy channel, Nightflyers... ...Created by Jeff Buhler (Pet Sematary remake), the Syfy show is a sci-fi horror series based off of Martin's novel. In Nightflyers: "A crew of space explorers embark on a mission to find a mysterious alien ship." Syfy has been releasing all sorts of little teases for the show. Most recently, they dropped the below clip which gives a great, five minute peak at what we can expect. Believe it or not, this actually isn't the only adaptation of Nightflyers out there. Robert Collector (Red Heat) first directed a film version in 1987 with an adaptation from Robert Jaffe (Motel Hell). While I've never seen the film, this version seems to be much darker and horrific than the B-horror of the 80s version. Not much is known about the plot, but based on the clip, I'd gather Nightflyers has a little The Shining in space fell to it. Beam me right the hell up for that. Nightflyers premieres December 2nd on Syfy and will release, as they say, "ALL EPISODE ON ALL PLATFORMS". By Matt Konopka
