Are you sitting down, Texas Chainsaw Massacre fans? Because you might want to sit down... ...Via Variety, Tobe Hooper's original 1974 classic, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, is once again getting the reboot treatment! The site is reporting that Legendary has closed a deal with Ryan and Andy Tohill (The Dig) to direct a new adaptation, with a script from Chris Thomas Devlin! In the original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: "Two siblings and three of their friends en route to visit their grandfather's grave in Texas end up falling victim to a family of cannibalistic psychopaths and must survive the terrors of Leatherface and his family." The film was first remade all the way back in 2003, and has since seen several new sequels/prequels. It appears that while we wait for Freddy and Jason to stop battling it out in court, Chucky and Leatherface are out here keeping the classic slasher icons alive and well on the big screen. The reboot will be produced by Fede Alvarez (Don't Breathe) and Rodolfo Sayagues. Alvarez told the site, "The Tohill’s vision is exactly what the fans want...It’s violent, exciting and so depraved that it will stay with you forever.” Sounds good to us Fede! By Matt Konopka
