Shudder's 'The Room' Has Become One of the Most Watched Originals in the History of the Streaming Service!
If you haven't watched The Room on Shudder yet, you're apparently one of the few who hasn't...
...Shudder has announced today that director Christian Volckman Twilight Zone-esque The Room has quickly become one of the streaming service's most watched originals EVER, and is easily the most watched original premiere of 2020 for them.
Said Shudder's General Manager, Craig Engler “'The Room' had a strong debut in week one, which is where we usually see the biggest numbers...But in week two the audience grew a staggering 150 percent, and week three viewership was only a hair below that, turning it into a monster hit. There’s something about 'The Room' and its claustrophobic story of a family stuck inside a house under extraordinary circumstances that’s really resonating with Shudder members.”
In The Room:
"He’s a struggling comic book artist, she’s tired of her job in a big law firm. In search of a more authentic and healthy life, a couple leaves the city and moves into an old house in New Hampshire. They soon discover a secret hidden room that has the extraordinary power to materialize anything they wish for. Like children in a fairy tale, they spend days and nights indulging their every material desire. And then one day, they ask for something different: a child, a little boy of their own, only to discover some wishes have dire consequences."
The film stars Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace) and Kevin Janssens (Revenge).
