If there is going to be an Alien 5, actress Sigourney Weaver doesn't seem all that interested...

...If you're not quite caught up, the Alien franchise has gone through a hell of a ride over the last few years, with Disney buying up 20th Century Fox and getting a hold of the rights to Alien, resulting in a to-be-determined status for original director Ridley Scott's prequel series, which most recently saw the release of Alien: Covenant.

Still, there is of course plenty of talk of what will happen with the legendary sci-fi horror series. Recently, Sigourney Weaver, who starred as the iconic character, Ripley, sat down with Empire Magazine and revealed that Walter Hill, producer of the original Alien, had sent Weaver a 50-page treatment for an Alien 5 around a year and a half ago (unrelated to the once rumored Neil Blomkamp sequel).
Said Weaver to Empire regarding the treatment, “I don’t know...Ridley has gone in a different direction. Maybe Ripley has done her bit. She deserves a rest.”
If you ask us, it doesn't sound like Weaver is too keen on the idea of Ripley returning to the screen. And she has a point. After all, Ripley has already died and been brought back as a half-alien, half-human clone, so what else could we possibly want to see from the character?

Still, with the rights to the Alien franchise resting at Disney and an unclear future for Ridley's prequel series, we'll have to hold our breath...and stomachs...as we wait to see what's going to burst out of the studio regarding any new Alien news.
