Spanish Spinoff of Josh Malerman's 'Bird Box' in the Works!

...Bird Box, based on a novel by Josh Malerman and starring Sandra Bullock, was a major hit for Netflix back in 2018, and now today, via Variety, we have learned that a Spanish spinoff of the film is in the works!

According to the site, Alex and David Pastor (The Occupant, The Head, Carriers and Los Últimos Dias) will write and direct the project.

In the original Bird Box, directed by Susanne Bier and adapted for the screen by Eric Heisserer:

"Five years after an ominous unseen presence drives most of society to suicide, a mother and her two children make a desperate bid to reach safety."

The producers are Dylan Clark (Bird Box, The Batman), Chris Morgan (Bird Box, Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw), and Adrián Guerra and Núria Valls for Nostromo Pictures. Executive producers are Bier, Ainsley Davies for Chris Morgan Productions, and Brian Williams for Dylan Clark Productions.

At this time, there are no plot details on the spinoff. More details here as we learn them.
