Normally I would not post about one person's simple film recommendation, but as a man who has been dubbed a master of horror and quite possibly this generation's voice of the genre, when author Stephen King recommends a film, we all might want to listen...
...If you don't already follow King on Twitter, I highly recommend you do. The guy always has something intelligent to say, whether it be about politics, writing, or in this case, film. Today, he took to Twitter to let followers know about a little movie that just dropped on Netflix which is quickly gaining in popularity.
He's not wrong. Cam is a highly provocative insight into the social media age and the doppelganger personalities we create online. Directed by Daniel Goldhaber and written by Isa Mazzei, Cam is about:
"Alice (Madeline Brewer), an ambitious camgirl, (who) wakes up one day to discover she's been replaced on her show with an exact replica of herself."
If you haven't already watched Cam on Netflix, you're only depriving yourself by waiting. Listen to our man, Mr. King. Something tells me he knows good horror when he sees it.
