'The Ritual' Director David Bruckner to Direct "Re-Imagining' of Clive Barker's 'Hellraiser'!

...Via THR, David Bruckner (The Signal, The Ritual), has teamed with writers Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski to remake Clive Barker's Hellraiser for Spyglass Media! David Goyer is also taking part in writing the story and will produce. According to the site, Spyglass is describing the reboot as “loyal, yet evolved.”

In Clive Barker's original 1987 film, based on his novel The Hellbound Heart: 

"An unfaithful wife encounters the zombie of her dead lover; the demonic cenobites are pursuing him after he escaped their sadomasochistic underworld."

This is all HUGE news, as the Hellraiser franchise has long been stuck in a sort of limbo through Dimension Films, producing disappointing sequel after disappointing sequel, so the thought of the franchise coming back with a budget for the first time in decades, and from a director as talented as Bruckner, is, well...we won't blame you if you start salivating. 

At this time, we do not have any additional details on the remake, but in the case of Hellraiser, this is something fans have been waiting to see done for years, and we can't wait to learn more.
