One of our favorite film festivals in Los Angeles is coming to Shudder for all to experience...

...Via EW, the Etheria Film Festival, a fest which features shorts from female directors and supports women in genre, is going to screen on Shudder beginning June 19th!
An annual showcase for short horror, science fiction, fantasy, action, and thriller films directed by women, this years Etheria Film Festival will feature nine genre shorts of all sorts, which Shudder members will be able to watch from June 19th-July 20th!

Our friend and Etheria Director of Programming, Heidi Honeycutt, told the site, “The 2020 lineup is mind-blowing...There’s some seriously terrifying stuff in there, as well as some truly beautiful, funny, and heartbreaking films. I’m very excited about our partnership with Shudder and what it means for our filmmakers.”

In addition to the shorts, live digital celebrations featuring interviews, panels, and more with Etheria 2020 filmmakers and fans will be hosted by The Screenland Armour Theater in Kansas City, Missouri on June 20. Tickets for this separate Etheria Celebration and more info can be found at the Screenland website.

A full Etheria Film Festival retrospective collection featuring selected films from 2014-2019 will be released on digital streaming by The Horror Collective beginning with Season 2014 on July 23rd via Amazon.

To give you an idea of how amazing Etheria is, we attended the 2019 edition, in which Gale Ann Hurd (producer extraordinaire of many classics, including The Terminator), was presented a lifetime achievement award by one of the people that helped her get her start, Roger Corman!

Heidi and everyone involved with Etheria are incredible people, and incredibly supportive of women in the genre. Many of the filmmakers featured in the fest have gone on to do great things, and we can't wait to see what this year's festival has in store for us.

Until then, check out the teaser for the festival below!
