Recently, there's been some speculation on the title for the upcoming Saw film...
...Over the last couple of days, it's been reported by multiple sources that the potential title for the Chris Rock produced Saw film would be Spiral: From the Book of Saw, and we can now confirm that that is indeed the official title. A source which we unfortunately cannot name confirmed for us that that is the current title, and if you check sources like IMDB, that is the title being listed there as well.
Despite whatever we may think of the title, (I'm not a fan), it is at least an interesting one, which could imply that, as we saw throughout the franchise, this film may not actually involve the Jigsaw killer himself, but a killer (or multiple killers), following in his footsteps and taking a page out of the ole Jigsaw manual. And I would be totally fine with that.
For those still unfamiliar with the film, Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw 2-4) returns to direct the film, with a script from Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger, based off of a story from Chris Rock. The film also features none other than Samuel L. Jackson, which is exciting enough in and of itself.
Chris Rock recently told IGN that the upcoming Saw flick will be just as gory and nasty as the rest of the franchise, but with a sprinkling of humor, which he says seemed like "good, fertile ground" for a dose of laughter, since the rest of the franchise is almost devoid of that. Other than that, we still know very little detail on the plot of the film, other than it's in the timeline of the rest of the franchise.
