Tony Todd All But Confirms He is Reprising His Role as Candyman in Nia DaCosta's 'Candyman'!

We can probably stop guessing at this point if Tony Todd is returning as Candyman or not...

...Yesterday, a new teaser for director Nia DaCosta's Candyman dropped, in which a voiceover was featured that many have agreed sounded a hell of a lot like one of our favorite actors working in the genre, Tony Todd, who played the iconic villain in the original trilogy. Well, not long after that take began to circulate, Tony Todd re-posted a tweet that seems to confirm he is indeed returning to play the character!

Late last night, Tony posted the following tweet:

Now, if the mere fact that Tony retweeted that article suggesting the teaser was in fact teasing his return wasn't enough, in doing some research, we took a visit to the film's IMDB page, and found that Tony is now listed there as playing Daniel Robitaille aka Candyman!

So, even though we've all pretty much assumed it from the beginning, we can probably put those rumors to rest now. It seems clear to us that when DaCosta's Candyman hits screens on September 25th, 2020, Tony Todd will return as Candyman with it!
