I'm telling you right now, these next few years are going to see the return of the creature feature. We're already aware of quite a few that will be releasing in 2020, and now we have the trailer for one which looks both heartfelt and eerie, After Midnight...

...A creature feature with heart, After Midnight will be arriving from Cranked Up Films in February from directors Jeremy Gardner and Christian Stella, with a script by Gardner. Some of you may be familiar with Gardner's work, as he directed the underrated zombie flick, The Battery, which was shot by Stella (you can stream it on Amazon Prime).

Amongst a long list of producing talent involved are David Lawson (The Endless, Spring) and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorehead, the directors behind both of those films, producing through their Rustic Films banner.

Said Gardner to EW:
I originally met them on the festival circuit with 'The Battery' and they were touring with 'Resolution'. We became friends. Before 'Spring' was shooting, I sent [this] script and Justin went, ‘You’re never going to believe this, but we’re doing a monster romance.’ But they were both so kind. They told me it was the best script that they had been sent. As their star continued to ascend, and they had a little more clout, they came back with Dave Lawson, their producer, and were like, ‘Look, we want to try and help get this thing made."
The film also stars Brea Grant, Henry Zebrowski, Justin Benson, Ashley Song, and Nicola Masciotra.

In After Midnight:
When his long suffering girlfriend disappears suddenly, leaving a cryptic note as her only explanation, Hank's (Gardner) comfortable life and his sanity begin to crack. Then, from the woods surrounding his house, something terrible starts trying to break in."
After Midnight claws onto VOD February 14th, 2020.
