All hail the king, baby... ...We're not talking about Elvis. We're talking about writer Joe R. Lansdale, one of the genre's most prolific authors, who wrote the story which the film Bubba Ho-Tep is based on, starring Bruce Campbell (pictured above are Bruce and Joe on the set of Bubba). Today, Squee! Projects has released a trailer for director Hansi Oppenheimer's All Hail the Popcorn King, a documentary exploring the life of Lansdale! In All Hail the Popcorn King: "Follows writer Joe R. Lansdale who's written over 50 novels and 500 short stories including 'Bubba Ho-Tep', 'Cold in July', 'The Drive-in' and the 'Hap & Leonard' series. Joe is also a Master in Martial Arts and created his own technique. He's well known for his unique voice and his generosity and support of other writers and filmmakers." The documentary will feature all new interviews with Joe R.Lansdale, Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead), James Purefoy (Resident Evil), Joe Hill (author of NOS4A2), Don Coscarelli (Phantasm), Mick Garris (The Stand TV series), Amber Benson ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer"), novelist David J.
