[Trailer] Maika Monroe and Dane DeHaan Battle it Out in 'The Hitcher'-Esque 'The Stranger'!

One of my favorite performances in horror is Rutger Hauer in The Hitcher, and this new Quibi series appears heavily inspired by that film...

...Quibi has released the first trailer for their upcoming series, The Stranger, starring Maika Monroe (It Follows) and Dane DeHaan (A Cure for Wellness)! Written/directed by Veena Sud, the series has major The Hitcher vibes, with DeHaan acting like a nice passenger at first, before he suddenly reveals to Maika that he has murdered someone and is going to kill her, just as Hauer does to C. Thomas Howell in The Hitcher. 

​In The Stranger: 

"An unassuming young rideshare driver is thrown into her worst nightmare when a mysterious Hollywood Hills passenger enters her car."

And this is why ridesharing makes me uncomfortable. 

The Stranger is part of Quibi's 'Movies in Chapters' lineup, an interesting concept that should make this one to look forward to tuning into with each new chapter release. Look for it in April 2020!
