 IFC Midnight invites you to a date with a corpse next year... ...IFC Midnight has announced today that they will be releasing writer/director Keith Thomas' spooky horror flick The Vigil next year, which our own Paul Bauer called a "strong feature debut". In The Vigil: "Low on funds and having recently left his insular religious community, Yakov reluctantly accepts an offer from his former rabbi and confidante to take on the responsibility of an overnight "shomer," fulfilling the Jewish practice of watching over the body of a deceased community member. Shortly after arriving at the recently departed dilapidated house to sit the vigil, Yakov begins to realize that something is very, very wrong." The film stars Dave Davis (THE WALKING DEAD), Fred Melamed (A SERIOUS MAN), Menashe Lustig (MENASHE), Malky Goldman (UNORTHODOX, HIGH MAINTENANCE), and Lynn Cohen (MUNICH).
