Sometimes, if you think you shouldn't, you probably shouldn't... ...With the spread of Covid-19, more and more states/cities are FINALLY enforcing stay at home orders (took some of them long enough), and this is a good thing, as it needs to happen. Via katc.com, Citizens in Acadia Parish, Louisiana received an interesting announcement for the curfew though, as Crowley police rode around broadcasting the alarm from The Purge series to announce that it was time to get inside. Um, what? For those unfamiliar, The Purge is a Blumhouse franchise which follows an annual event in which, for one night out of the year, all crime is made legal in order to encourage citizens to "purge" their pent up aggression. It's not the move I would've recommended, and Acadia citizens seem to have felt the same way, as the use of the alarm received some backlash, and the Crowley Police Department has since stated that they will no longer be using the alarm. According to the site, Crowley Police chief Jimmy Broussard says he didn't even known the alarm was from the Purge films. Check out a video that was captured below from a citizen recording the alarm, and remember everyone: Stay inside. We shouldn't need unnecessary Purge alarms to tell us this right now. By Matt Konopka
