...While we patiently (or not so patiently) wait for more details on the Resident Evil film reboot coming from Screen Gems, today the title for writer/director Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down) film has been announced, officially being called Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City!
At this time, we still do not have any plot details outside of knowing the film will detail the events of a zombie siege on Raccoon City, but the film is said to be more of an adaptation of the first two games and will feature characters from both Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2 and is inspired by the work of John Carpenter!
The film stars Kaya Scodelario, Hannah John-Kamen, Robbie Amell, Tom Hopper, Avan Jogia, and Neal McDonough.
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City releases in theaters on September 3rd from Screen Gems.
