When I first watched Train to Busan, it broke me, and we'll soon have round two of zombies and tears... ...Via Screen Daily, Well Go USA has acquired North American rights to Peninsula, the hotly anticipated sequel to director Yeon Sang-ho's Train to Busan! Released in 2016, the film was a complete hit, breaking hearts and shocking audiences all across the globe, since receiving rave reviews and even an animated prequel, Seoul Station. Sang-ho claims that Peninsula is not in fact a sequel, but says it does happen in the same universe. In Peninsula: "The film takes place four years after the outbreak of zombies that were chasing protagonists on a train speeding south to Busan. The Korean peninsula is devastated and Jung-seok, a former soldier who has managed to escape overseas, is given a mission to go back and unexpectedly meets up with survivors." The film is reported to have twice the budget, and will star Gang Dong-won and Lee Jung-hyun. Peninsula is currently in post-production. By Matt Konopka
