Earlier today, I wrote about a gem of a horror film from 2013 called WNUF Halloween Special. Somehow, the film had slipped by me, and I was captivated by its intelligent celebration of all things Halloween. Looks like I discovered it just in time, because the filmmakers have begun a campaign to raise funds for a sequel!... ...Taking its cues from local TV specials in the late eighties/early nineties, WNUF Halloween Special aims to recapture that nostalgic VHS quality of the time period, and does so beautifully. Directed by Chris LaMartina, along with various others contributing commercials running between the main story, WNUF Halloween Special takes place on, of course, Halloween night. Reporter Frank Stewart (Paul Fahrenkopf), leads a crew into the supposedly haunted Weber house for an expose investigating whether or not the house is truly haunted. What follows is a fun, spooky, perfect way to kickoff October and get into the Halloween mood. Now, I'm happy to report that it looks as if LaMartina and his crew are conjuring up a sequel! But they need our help. The sequel to WNUF Halloween Special is attempting to raise $50K, with 12K raised at this point. LaMartina has not yet revealed the plot of the sequel, but promises it is a direct continuation of the film, this time taking place in the nineties, with some returning characters as well.
