A Quiet Place II could be the second film in a trilogy... ...Unfortunately, we learned this morning that A Quiet Place II had been pulled from theaters indefinitely over fears of the Coronavirus. While this news is tragic and frankly concerning, we'll still get to experience the film eventually, which is expected to have major box office numbers when it does release, especially after initial responses from critics are so positive regarding the film. In speaking with Collider recently, director John Krasinski revealed that he may just have an idea for a third film in the series if part 2 does well. Krasinski told the site, “It’s interesting, I genuinely hadn’t thought about a second one when I was doing the first one. However, I really had these questions while I was doing it. I put the fires out in the distance in the first one, and I always thought to myself, ‘Wouldn’t it be cool if we got to explore where those fires lead to? Who’s on the other end of those fires?’ But I never thought that there would be a sequel. So then when I actually came around to writing the sequel, I started with the fires. And so this time, I think when my brain started wandering of questions of what would this mean later on, I started to write down notes in case I could prepare myself for a third one.” While that quote doesn't specifically say Krasinski is for sure working on a third film, it does imply that if the opportunity comes up, he already has an idea of where a third film could go. And to be honest, while I originally thought a sequel wasn't the best idea, after seeing footage from the new film, I'm all for seeing where Krasinski wants to take this franchise if he does indeed continue to expand on it.
