 Turns out The Others is being resurrected for more than we originally thought... ...Not long ago, we reported that writer/director Alejandro Amenábar's Nicole Kidman starring The Others would be getting a remake from Sentient Entertainment, and now, via Variety, KHC has also learned that the 2001 film will be getting a Spanish-language TV series adaptation from BTF Media, which has snagged the series format rights! In the original The Others: "A woman who lives in her darkened old family house with her two photosensitive children becomes convinced that the home is haunted." Said BTF Media's Ivonne Vela, “We are honored to bring an unimaginable remake for the Spanish-speaking audience...It is incredible how a story written 20 years ago is still resonating today: Themes such as self-isolation, paranoia and fear, together with the intense desire to protect our children and ourselves from harm are more current than ever.” Vela is dead on. The Others is a true classic ghost story. BTF founders Ricardo Coeto and Francisco Cordero will produce the series while FilmSharks’ Guido Rud and Enrique Cerezo will executive produce.
